How can I close my cash app account?
If you want to close cash app your account. You can close it in the cash app if you’re using an Apple device. If you have a negative balance on the account, or need help closing it, contact cash app Member Services at email https://i-cashapp.com
If there are funds in
your account, you can also move your balance to a linked account via ACH
transfer, or we will return those funds to you via check at the mailing address
we have for you in our records. Please make sure your mailing address is
accurate in the cash app to avoid any potential delays in receiving your check.
Please keep in mind
that once your account is closed, you will no longer be able to access it.
While your account is still open, you can locate and download your account
statements and tax forms under Documents in the Settings section of the cash
app or website. After your account is closed, all future tax documents will be
mailed to you. Please refer to this article for more information.

Can
I close my account in the cash app?
If you have the cash
app version 5.109 or later on your Apple device, you can close your
cash app account using the cash app:

On the home screen, tap the gear icon
to launch Settings.

In Personal Info, tap the Edit link.
·
Select Close account.
·
Read the cash app Closed
my account message. If you want to proceed with closing your account,
you’ll need to verify your identity to do so.

To verify your identity and confirm
your intention to close your account, enter the last 4 digits of your Social
Security number in the text field.

If you want to upload an image, you can
add one here.
·
Tap the Submit request button when
you’re ready to close your account.
·
You’ll see the request has been
submitted message, confirming that we’re working on your closure request. Tap
the Got it button to complete the process.
If you’re using an
Android device, you’ll need to contact support through your cash app to close your
account.
What
if there's money in my account when I close it?
If there are funds in
your account when you wish to close it, you may transfer your balance to a
linked account through an outbound ACH transfer by using the “Transfer Funds” feature
under Move Money in the cash app or online. Please complete these steps before
you close your cash app
account.

Open your cash app or log into your
account online.
2.
Select Move Money, and then Transfer
funds. From here you can choose which accounts you’d like to transfer funds
between, or link a new account.

If you have a cash app Savings account,
according to the terms of your Deposit Account Agreement, this account will
also be closed.

To transfer Savings funds, you’ll need
to transfer your Savings balance into your Checking account before you initiate
the ACH transfer.

If you have a cash app Credit Builder
Secured Visa® Credit Card, this account will also be closed, according to the
terms of your Account Agreement.
·
To transfer funds from your cash app Credit
Builder Secured Visa® Credit Card, you’ll need to transfer your Credit Builder
balance into your Checking account before you initiate the ACH transfer.
3. We may disable your
ability to use any active cash app cards during this process.
To avoid any delay in
receiving your funds, please ensure that this transfer is complete before you close
your cash app account. After you initiate a transfer, it may take up to
3-5 business days for the funds to show up in your linked account.
If
I don't transfer funds, how can I receive my remaining balance?
If there's a balance
on your cash app account and you don't wish to transfer those funds to a linked
account, we will return your funds to you via check at the mailing address we
have for you in our records. Please ensure that your mailing address in the
cash app is accurate - and if it's not, please update it.
Your account closure
will be complete within 5 business days of the date you requested to close it.
